On Monday I tried out Xi’an’s city wall, supposedly the largest of its kind in the world. The city wall encircles Xi’an’s inner city completely. It has 3 gates – North, West, East and South. And the really great thing is you can hire a bike (40元) for about 1.5 hours and the ride the top of the wall. It’s a really great way to see the buildings and architecture and the different faces of Xi’an city. I’ll let the pictures do the talking:
Later on I hopped on the metro and went South to see the Big Wild Goose pagoda and its surrounding park. This is a really beautifully done park with lots of places to sit and relax:
